About The Position

As an HVAC Technician at JLL, you'll play a critical role in keeping our clients' facilities running smoothly and efficiently. This hands-on position focuses on the installation, repair, and maintenance of base building and critical system machinery and equipment. You'll be responsible for responding to service requests across mechanical systems, diagnosing equipment malfunctions, and implementing corrective actions to restore optimal operating conditions. At JLL, your technical expertise will be essential in maintaining the comfort and safety of the buildings we manage. Your work will encompass a comprehensive preventative maintenance program covering pumps, motors, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, and associated HVAC systems. You'll also manage parts inventory, ensure compliance with safety protocols for hazardous materials, and maintain a clean, safe work environment. This role requires someone who can work independently while collaborating effectively with property management teams and building occupants to minimize disruption and deliver exceptional service. Your day-to-day will involve responding to and completing maintenance service requests efficiently, ensuring minimal disruption to building operations and occupants. You will diagnose malfunctioning HVAC equipment and determine the most effective corrective actions to restore systems to satisfactory operating condition. You will execute preventative maintenance tasks on critical systems including pumps, motors, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, AHUs, FCUs, RTUs, heat pumps, makeup air units, exhaust fans, and associated mechanical systems. Additionally, you will order necessary parts and equipment for repairs, maintenance projects, and new installations while maintaining an organized inventory system. You must comply with all departmental policies regarding the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials in accordance with environmental regulations, and maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized workplace. You will also prepare and submit purchase order requests, develop reliable sources for stock materials, conduct periodic supply checks to ensure operational readiness, and perform additional duties and tasks as assigned to support building operations and client needs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent certification
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant HVAC or building maintenance experience
  • EPA Universal Certification required
  • Valid driver's license in good standing
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients, tenants, and team members
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Capability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods throughout the workday
  • Ability to bend, kneel, squat, reach, and work in various positions as required to access equipment components for extended durations

Nice To Haves

  • Two or more years of formal trades schooling in electrical system design, refrigeration, and/or HVAC systems
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or work order platforms
  • Additional certifications in specialized HVAC equipment or building automation systems
  • Experience working in commercial real estate or property management environments
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and troubleshooting expertise with complex mechanical systems
