Job Summary Performs advanced journey level mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and electronic work in the installation, maintenance, repair, and operation of air conditioning, ventilation, heating, boilers, food service equipment, refrigeration and building automated systems. Performs this same type of work on ancillary equipment and systems

Requirements

  • Minimum of a high school education
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must pass a criminal background check
  • Possess CFC certification
  • Must obtain a Minnesota Special Engineers License within one year

Nice To Haves

  • Gas-Piping- City of Winona license, preferred
  • Four years of related HVAC experience, preferred
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Must be able to troubleshoot mechanical problems and perform repairs that are consistent with licensing requirements and industry best practices.
  • Must observe all safety guidelines and follow work procedures established by the university and the appropriate licensing division of the state of Minnesota
  • Must be able to lift heavy equipment and tools, as well as bend, crouch, crawl, climb into spaces where equipment is located
  • Demonstrate professional interaction with students, faculty, and staff
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, benefits, repair, and maintenance.
  • Equipment maintenance: performing routine maintenance and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed
  • Inspection equipment, structures, material: inspecting or diagnosing equipment, structures, or materials to identify the causes of errors or other problems or defects.
  • Knowledge of design techniques, principles, tools and instruments involved in the production and use of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models.
  • Ability to use multi-meters to read voltage, current and resistance values must be able to troubleshoot basic circuits.
  • Must be able to read and understand mechanical drawings
