Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 5 plus years of job-related experience. A combination of experience and education will be considered in lieu of a diploma. Valid driver's license and completion of an apprenticeship required.
  • Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
  • Ability to use existing procedures to solve standard problems.
  • Experience with analyzing information and standard practices to make judgments.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Organizational skills with a strong inquisitive mindset.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, adjust, service and maintain large electric or pneumatic control systems used for building heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems and equipment.
  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of all HVAC systems, including chillers, boilers, air handling units, and associated controls.
  • Maintaining crucial environmental controls (temperature, humidity, air quality) for sensitive research, focusing on air handling, chillers, and potentially specialized gas delivery (like natural gas for burners/furnaces) within labs
  • Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance to identify potential issues and ensure optimal system performance.
  • Troubleshoot and repair HVAC issues in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with other engineering staff to implement energy efficiency initiatives and sustainability practices.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
  • Respond to emergency calls outside of regular working hours as needed.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of HVAC system upgrades and replacements.
  • Inspect and conduct ongoing maintenance on building HVAC equipment to ensure proper operation of equipment and compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and work safety.
  • Troubleshoot difficult equipment failures and identify the best course of action for equipment modifications.
  • Have some knowledge of standard principles with limited practical experience in applying them.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values.
  • Work within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
  • Exchange straightforward information, ask questions, and check for understanding.
