We are seeking an experienced and motivated HVAC Tech 1 to join our team. In this high-impact role, you will support all facets of event operations for Multi-site Venues, while playing a key role in broader department initiatives.
Requirements
- Basic understanding of HVAC systems and a strong willingness to learn and grow within the trade.
- Ability to follow direction and work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Good problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to completing assigned tasks.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, including during live events.
- Willingness to support a variety of tasks and adapt to operational needs.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends, as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 0–2 years of HVAC or related maintenance experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge of HVAC systems, tools, and safety practices.
Nice To Haves
- Completion of an HVAC technician program or vocational training preferred.
- EPA 608 certification preferred (or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe).
Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems across the facility, including air conditioning units, air handlers, ventilation systems, and heating equipment.
- Support routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure systems are operating safely and efficiently.
- Help diagnose basic HVAC issues and assist in troubleshooting equipment under the guidance of senior technicians.
- Perform minor repairs such as replacing filters, motors, belts, and basic components.
- Assist with testing HVAC systems to verify proper operation and performance.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent through the CMMS.
- Support event coverage by monitoring HVAC performance and responding to comfort or system needs in real time.
- Work collaboratively with engineering team members, including electricians and plumbers, to support overall facility operations.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines when working with equipment and tools.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Assist with repairs and maintenance of arena equipment, outside of HVAC, such as seat repair, floor repair, and other minor repairs as needed, or assigned.
