About The Position

RGNext employees execute and report on theater and strategic offensive and defensive ballistic missile testing and support space situational awareness operations and experiments, using a wide array of highly sophisticated radar, telemetry and optical sensors to meet the needs of the Department of Defense in defending the United States and its interests. Our team delivers invaluable defensive support to our nation, efficiency and essential national space awareness expertise to ensure our nation’s safety. This overseas position is located on Roi-Namur, on Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands. It is an unaccompanied position (no family accommodations or pets). What You Will Do: Provide O&M support, new installations, upgrades, preventive maintenance and repairs of various types of equipment to include Chillers, Pumps, Motors and Air Compressors used in buildings heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and chiller water systems. Provide material and labor estimates for owned projects. Responsible for the shop in the absence of the supervisor. Assist shop supervisor with daily monitoring of the work management system. Oversee and advise other technicians in the proper use of tools and equipment. Adhere to safety rules and regulations in the course of their work. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to troubleshoot various types of equipment to include Chillers, Pumps, Motors and Air Compressors used in buildings heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and chiller water systems.
  • Ability to interpret and understand basic electrical equipment and have knowledge of basic electrical troubleshooting related to refrigeration plant and auxiliary equipment without supervision.
  • Must be proficient in analyzing defects and failures with the ability to perform modifications and corrective measures.
  • Shall be proficient in the employment of all tools, methods and materials pertaining to the position.
  • Must be proficient in the use of electric and oxy/acetylene welding and cutting equipment.
  • Ability to effectively define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints, schematics, diagrams and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively interpret technical instructions necessary to carry out the above duties.
  • Ability to prepare routine reports and correspondence.
  • Proficiency in Commercial HVAC Electrical Systems.
  • Proficiency in HVAC Mechanical systems.
  • Possess basic math skills to perform required math calculations.
  • Ability to read, write and verbally communicate effectively in English.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to balance, plan, prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to adapt to changing situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate hand and power tools associated with electrical work.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Prior experiencing using Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Associate’s degree in relevant field or technical school, or experience in lieu of education.
  • Qualification as a HVAC Chiller Mechanic or equivalent title.
  • Completion of an HVAC apprenticeship program offered by an accredited university or trade school.
  • Eight (8) or more years technical experience in installation, preventive/corrective maintenance, testing, troubleshooting; and repair of central chilled water systems.
  • Possess EPA Universal HVAC Certification for handling refrigerants.
  • Must be able to relocate to Roi Namur, Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance which requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • Possess EPA Universal HVAC Certification for handling refrigerants.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, climb, squat, reach, kneel and lay horizontally as job may require.
  • Must be able to climb a ladder and steps and work at heights up to 30 feet.
  • Able to work in confined spaces depending on the maintenance requirement.
  • The flexibility to work non-duty hours or on weekends to support emergencies, and specific project or mission requirements.
