About The Position

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Five years of experience working with air conditioning, heating, and/or refrigeration repair, including three years with systems of five tons or above.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Environmental Protection Agency Certification (EPA - 608 Universal Certification).
• Completion of HVAC vocational program and four years of relevant experience can substitute for education requirements.

Responsibilities

• Installs, maintains, and repairs complex refrigeration, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment.
• Troubleshoots, calibrates, repairs, and installs HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
• Serves as a lead for Technicians I and II, providing training and guidance.
• Performs non-routine preventive maintenance on HVAC systems to maintain service levels.
• Checks drain lines, clears pipes, and makes necessary repairs on HVAC equipment.
• Recovers refrigerant in compliance with federal regulations and repairs electric motors and starters.
• Installs and repairs small electric motors and various appliances like refrigerators and ice machines.
• Requests and maintains records of work orders and oversees timesheets.
• Serves as a backup to the Supervisor in their absence.
• Performs other trades work as needed or assigned.
