Turner Industries Group, LLC has an opening for an HVAC Technician to join our Team in the Alpharetta, GA area. The HVAC technician will be responsible for assembling, installing, servicing, and repairing air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating units used in an industrial setting.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One (1) to four (4) years of experience in specified skill (depending on mechanic level).
  • Advanced knowledge of industrial/commercial HVAC systems.
  • Advanced skill with HVAC diagnostic tools.
  • Most sites will require HVAC certification.
  • Written pre-employment qualification test.
  • Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation.
  • Job site safety requirements as required by the client.
  • Safety equipment as required by the client.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, install, service, and repair air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating units.
  • Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy.
  • Visualize flat drawings or pictures as solid objects with height, width, and depth.
  • Perform a variety of duties which may change often.
  • Rate information using measurable standards.
  • Study building plans and working drawings to determine work aids required and sequence of installations.
  • Measure windows or other existing openings, or cut through walls to install new units.
  • Diagnose causes of equipment breakdowns.
  • Test parts with appropriate instruments, disassemble and assemble parts, and make necessary repairs.
  • Drill holes to mount units and lift parts into position.
  • Locate and mark position of pipe and/or duct connections and passage holes.
  • Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and/or duct fittings.
  • Cut and thread pipe using pipe cutters, cutting torch, and pipe-threading machine.
  • Connect motors to control panels and balance motors to ensure efficient operation.
  • Connect control panels to power source.
  • Weld holding fixtures to steel structural members.
  • Install and maintain solar heating and cooling units.
  • Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
