The HVAC Tech 3 is responsible for manufacturing Industrial HVAC Units with minimal to no supervision. This position involves running conduit, wiring panels, installing electrical systems, brazing, piping, and testing and troubleshooting units. This role is suitable for someone with a strong technical HVAC background, an understanding of custom environment standards, and the ability to work independently. The HVAC Tech 3 will also mentor junior level HVAC technicians, problem-solve complex issues, and ensure projects stay on schedule.

Requirements

  • EPA Certification required.
  • Able to read wiring and piping diagrams
  • Brazing and piping experience
  • Detail-oriented, ability to plan, organize, set priorities and manage multiple projects
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products required
  • Ability to physically meet the following: Stand continuously, 8+ hours; Kneel, crouch occasionally; Climb Ladder occasionally; Lift from floor to waist occasionally; Lift from waist to shoulder occasionally; Lift overhead occasionally; Lift 0 – 25lbs frequently; Lift 25 – 50lbs occasionally; Lift 50 – 75lbs occasionally

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in HVAC
  • Background in HVAC controls, DDC, or BAS preferred

Responsibilities

  • Champions safety in the workplace.
  • Caulks units to ensure proper sealing without supervision.
  • Wires HVAC units according to a schematic or blueprint without supervision.
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints under without supervision.
  • Connects refrigeration gauges with without supervision or direction.
  • Conducts nitrogen purging independently.
  • Braze and pipe HVAC units under without supervision.
  • Able to prepare coils without supervision, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Adds pipe supports and clamps independently and effectively.
  • Performs pressure testing, vacuum pulling, oil addition, and refrigerant charging independently.
  • May test and troubleshoots HVAC equipment with minimal supervision.
  • Ensures production stays on tracks for assigned units.
  • Maintains clean work area.
  • Assists the assembly department as needed.
  • Willingly assists other departments as needed, maintains a flexible mindset.
  • All other duties assigned.
