About The Position

The HVAC Tech 2 is responsible for manufacturing of Industrial HVAC Units under some supervision. This position will run conduit, wire panels, install electrical systems, braze, pipe, and assist in the testing and troubleshooting of units. This person will work under the supervision of more experienced HVAC technicians. This role will mentor lower-level HVAC technicians on XeteX’s standards and will work under limited supervision. This person can function autonomously throughout most of their working day.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in HVAC preferred. Experience in the field may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • EPA Certification required.
  • Able to read wiring and piping diagrams
  • Brazing and piping experience
  • Detail-oriented, ability to plan, organize, set priorities and manage multiple projects
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products required
  • Ability to physically meet the following: · Stand continuously, 8+ hours · Kneel, crouch occasionally · Climb Ladder occasionally · Lift from floor to waist occasionally · Lift from waist to shoulder occasionally · Lift overhead occasionally · Lift 0 – 25lbs frequently · Lift 25 – 50lbs occasionally · Lift 50 – 75lbs occasionally

  • Background in HVAC controls, DDC, or BAS preferred

Responsibilities

  • Champions safety in the work place.
  • Caulks units to ensure proper sealing without supervision.
  • Wires HVAC units according to a schematic or blueprint under some supervision.
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints under minimal supervision.
  • Connects refrigeration gauges with minimal supervision or direction.
  • Conducts nitrogen purging independently.
  • Braze and pipe HVAC units under minimal supervision.
  • Able to prepare coils under minimal supervision, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Adds pipe supports and clamps independently and effectively.
  • Performs pressure testing, vacuum pulling, oil addition, and refrigerant charging under direct supervision.
  • May assist in testing and troubleshooting under direct supervision.
  • Maintains clean work area.
  • Assists the assembly department as needed.
  • Willingly assists other departments as needed, maintains a flexible mindset.
  • All other duties assigned.
