About The Position

The position involves maintaining and repairing all types of large HVAC systems, including centrifugal and reciprocating chilled water systems (up to 300 tons), air cooled chillers, screw compressors, water source geothermal heat pumps, and all ancillary equipment such as pumps and variable speed drives (VFD's). The role also includes maintaining, programming, and installing EMS controls, ensuring the safe condition and operation of all HVAC systems in district facilities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid Texas driver's license
• Texas air conditioning and refrigeration contractor license or technician certification
• Refrigerant certification Type I, II or Universal
• Eight years' experience in commercial HVAC including three years' experience in EMS controls repair/installation and programming.

• Knowledge of HVAC repairs, maintenance, and installation techniques
• Knowledge in the operation of pneumatic, electrical and direct-digital control systems
• Ability to operate a computer and assigned software (including email)
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and written reference material
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations
• Ability to diagnose and resolve problems
• Ability to use hand and power tools associated with the HVAC field
• Knowledge of EMS controls, their installation and the ability to program changes as required.

Benefits

• Salary range for HVAC Tech I: Minimum $20.63 per hour
• Salary range for HVAC Tech II: Minimum $21.66 per hour
• Salary range for HVAC Tech III: Minimum $23.18 per hour
