About The Position

The Licensed HVAC Tech will have a strong background in HVAC/R systems, with the ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This role requires mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience with various tools and equipment used in the HVAC industry. The HVAC Technician will be responsible for ensuring optimal performance of HVAC systems and providing excellent service to our clients.

Requirements

  • Proven 5-year minimum experience as an HVAC Technician in the HVAC service industry.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills related to HVAC systems.
  • Familiarity with refrigerant handling and safety protocols.
  • Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment effectively.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience driving a van is preferred.
  • HVAC License required.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair HVAC/R systems.
  • Maintains effective communication and notification of issues to the Senior Facility Manager. Ensure costs for repairs are approved in advance.
  • Adept at troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving problems involving HVAC principles.
  • Troubleshoot issues using HVAC diagnostic tools such as Ohmmeters to identify problems accurately, and the ability to conduct leak detection and repairs.
  • Perform routine inspections on HVAC equipment to ensure efficient operation.
  • Ability to control, perform preventative maintenance and repair all types of heating, cooling, air distribution and refrigeration systems, including split systems, air handlers, thermostats, condensers, fans, pumps, cooling towers, boilers, evaporators, chilled beams, etc.
  • Collaborate with other technicians to complete complex installations or repairs as needed.
  • Weld and plumb as required for system installations or modifications.
  • An understanding of HVAC temperature set-points with a proven ability to control thermostat settings through local devices and/or computer controlled automated software.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including service reports and inventory of parts used.
  • Drive company van to various job sites while adhering to safety regulations and company policies.
  • Utilizing the client work order system, updates work orders, as required.
  • Provide exceptional customer service.
  • Interacts favorably with all members of the Owens team.
  • Responsible for adhering to company time-keeping requirements and adhering to schedules and company requirements
  • Use company and client assets with care, such as electronic devices, communication devices, and tools.
  • Perform all work with concentration on Safety protocols and practices.
  • Meets with vendors, as requested, and ensures that work is performed at the highest quality.
  • Maintains professional, respectful and courteous relationships with internal teams client, vendors and building occupants.
  • Makes regular inspections of buildings and systems to ensure proper functioning. Inspects for any unusual conditions or faulty operations.
  • Maintains neat and clean mechanical rooms.
