About The Position

The HVAC Sheet Metal Apprentice position is a hands-on position, ideal for an individual looking to start their career in the HVAC industry, specifically in sheet metal fabrication. This position will train directly under our experienced fabricator and will teach extensive knowledge in fabrication, ductwork assembly, and shop operations, all while learning to read specifications, operate fabrication equipment, and produce high-quality custom fittings for HVAC installations.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
Prior experience in HVAC industry and/or completion of HVAC program through trade school, community college, or technical school.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
Ability to safely lift 50+ lbs. and push/pull up to 150 lbs. with the use of a dolly.
Valid Drivers License and clean driving record.
Willingness to learn, attend classes for professional advancement.

Responsibilities

Assist with sheet metal fabrication using plasma cutters, Pittsburg machines, box and pan brakes, quad plex machines, and other shop equipment.
Learn to layout, measure, cut, and assemble ductwork and fittings according to drawings, cut sheets, and verbal/written instructions.
Assist with loading, unloading, and transporting materials and/or equipment to jobsites as needed.
Maintain an organized, safe, and clean work environment.
Gain the ability to analyze technician and project specs to fabricate accurate systems components.
Learn proper use of hand tools, power tools, and fabrication machine under supervision.
Follow all company safety policies/procedures and OSHA requirements.
Follow directions from HVAC Fabricator to complete jobs in a safe and timely fashion.
Additional duties as assigned.
