Today, Aircond delivers a full spectrum of facility services to single and multi-site clients, from HVAC service to complete operations and maintenance solutions Job Title: Service Technician - Class III-V Summary: Install, service, and repair heating, ventilating, air conditioning systems, and related environmental-control systems. Utilize knowledge of heating and refrigeration theory, and pipefitting. Location: This role is based out of the Macon, GA office and serves the Macon Metro area as well as McDonough, Jonesboro and up to the Atlanta airport. Posting covers Class 3, 4 and 5 Class Service Technician. Duties are based on the candidate’s qualifications below. Class 3 Service Technician Understanding of 5 through 100-ton unitary DX equipment, chilled water air handlers, computer room units (CRAC), Pneumatic and DDC controls. Demonstrate advanced troubleshooting skills on 100 ton and less unitary DX equipment. Capable of all repairs needed on rooftop package equipment. Perform basic troubleshooting on air-cooled chillers. Troubleshoot and repair water cooled package equipment. Diagnose problems using electrical schematics. Diagnosing refrigerant system issues. Basic understanding variable frequency drives. Diagnose issues with variable air volume equipment (VAV’s/PIU’s) Class 4 Service Technician All skills listed in the Class 3 category above plus the ability to perform trouble shooting and repairs on all types of air-cooled chillers, pumps, and low-pressure boilers. Advanced troubleshooting on all air-cooled equipment, both unitary and chilled water. Basic understanding of water-cooled chillers. Basic understanding of DDC control systems. Capable of maintaining and repairing cooling towers. Ability to diagnose water flow issues. Proficient with variable frequency drives and starters. Proficient with low pressure boilers. Class 5 Service Technician All skills listed in the Class 3 and Class 4 sections above plus understanding of water-cooled chillers, chilled water systems, large chiller rebuilds, rigging, large boilers, pumps, and assist with technical support to other technicians. Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair large, water-cooled chillers. Diagnose issues on large boilers with power burners. Advanced diagnosis of air distribution systems (VAV/PIU). Chilled water system distribution and troubleshooting. Troubleshoot and repair/rebuild large pumps. Possess superior system knowledge and advanced troubleshooting skills.

Requirements

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of computer and tablets.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Strong adaptability skills.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Five years plus of commercial/industrial HVAC experience including exposure to control, compound and reciprocating systems as well as refrigerants.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification
  • Must be able to climb ladders, lift and carry 50 or more pounds, distinguish colors for electrical work and tolerate confined spaces.
  • Work will involve heights and seasonal temperature extremes.
  • Proper use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) is required while performing tasks.

Nice To Haves

  • Trade/Technical School certification or degree preferred.
