Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED with additional training and 1-5 years' experience in HVAC.
  • Valid licensing or certification as required by federal, state, provincial, or local laws.
  • EPA and safety certifications required.
  • Skilled at servicing heating, air conditioning, and ventilation equipment.
  • Proficient mechanical aptitude and ability to operate necessary tools and equipment.
  • Proficient at reading wiring diagrams and troubleshooting HVAC systems.
  • Effective communication skills to resolve customer issues.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and on-call shifts as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with electronic air cleaners, refrigeration systems, hot water systems, steam boiler systems, and humidifiers.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in various environmental conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform residential and/or light commercial service and maintenance calls under minimal supervision.
  • Analyze, diagnose, and resolve customer problems in a courteous, professional, timely, and accurate manner.
  • Diagnose and perform services on heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment.
  • Inspect equipment and perform diagnostics to identify potential problems.
  • Complete routine maintenance and equipment cleaning as needed.
  • Deliver and remove parts and equipment needed to complete service work.
  • Record all required information on customer calls using a hand-held device.
  • Complete all forms and paperwork in a neat, timely, complete, and accurate manner.
  • Collect payment from customers.
  • Communicate with dispatch to ensure accurate status reports of activities and availability.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and sustain high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Promote products and services to customers.
  • Ensure company property, vehicles, and tools are maintained and properly accounted for.
  • Represent the company professionally, honestly, and ethically in all business matters.
  • Follow standard procedures and processes, ensuring the company vehicle is properly stocked.
  • Perform health and safety roles and responsibilities as outlined.
