About The Position

The position involves conducting regular preventive maintenance inspections on various HVAC systems including gas furnaces, air handlers, air conditioners, and heat pumps. The technician will be responsible for maintaining the company vehicle, ensuring it is clean, organized, and refueled as necessary. The role requires maintaining proper truck stock, tools, and safety equipment, as well as generating customer invoices and processing payments electronically. The technician will travel to service calls, document installed equipment, and identify potential opportunities for new systems and services. Participation in company meetings and training is expected, along with adherence to company procedures and safety rules. The technician will work as part of a team to ensure customer satisfaction and stay updated on industry trends and codes.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1 - 2 years HVAC field experience required.
  • NATE certification is a plus.
  • EPA certification (Type II or universal) required.
  • Trade School or Tech Builder required.
  • Highly analytical person.
  • Customer service skills with effective communication both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to meet schedule and timelines.
  • Ability to work on mobile devices.
  • Valid Georgia driver's license with clear driving record.
  • Knowledge of materials, methods and tools used in HVAC.
  • Ability to work independently with little direction.
  • Physical ability to bend, squat, crawl, climb, and reach.
  • Ability to use hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
  • Exposure to changes in temperature and humidity, dust, fumes and gases.
  • Ability to work from heights and in small places.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs multiple times a day.
  • Proper uniform required.

  • Understanding of technical training when given.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular preventive maintenance inspection on gas furnaces, air handlers, air conditioners, heat pumps and make any necessary adjustments.
  • Maintain good working order of company vehicle including refueling as necessary, reporting any mechanical issues, keeping the vehicle clean and organized.
  • Maintain proper truck stock, parts, tools and safety equipment in the vehicle.
  • Understand company pricing and generate appropriate customer invoice at each home. Electronically process credit card payments.
  • Have all required tools for a level I maintenance technician.
  • Travel to service calls and work with dispatch to ensure schedule is maintained and delays are properly communicated to the customer.
  • Document all installed equipment: make, model, serial number, type of system and pictures as necessary.
  • Identify potential opportunities: new systems, service agreements, and additional services offered by Estes.
  • Participate in company provided meetings and training.
  • Observe all company procedures and safety rules.
  • Work as part of our team to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Stay up to date on latest trends and codes as it pertains to your job responsibilities.
  • Diagnose refrigerant, capacitor, contactor, and noise issues with all HVAC equipment.
  • Diagnose low voltage, high voltage and zoning issues. Be familiar with Greenspeed, and VS units.
