About The Position

The Estimator position at Hunton Services involves providing detailed estimates for HVAC Mechanical service projects across institutional, educational, and commercial sectors. The role requires collaboration with service technicians, sales, and management to ensure accurate and comprehensive estimates while adhering to safety and compliance standards.

Requirements

  • 2 to 5 years of prior experience in HVAC or a related contracting field.
  • Prefer HVAC estimating experience with a strong background in service-related work.
  • Able to establish and manage customer relationships; have professional and effective communication skills; proactive in conflict resolution.
  • Proficient at using technology such as Adobe, MS Excel, Word, Outlook, websites and resources to source parts price and availability.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and complete deadlines on time.
  • Proficient at collaborating effectively within a team-oriented environment.
  • Skilled in maintaining accurate documentation and ensuring a secure chain of custody.

Responsibilities

  • Review and discuss scope & specifications with service technicians, sales, and management.
  • Understand service-related documents to evaluate the scope of work required.
  • Thoroughly comprehend Technician's diagnostic notes and summary of the proposed work including parts, sub-contractors, model and serial numbers.
  • Review critical schedule and sequences and non-standard work conditions.
  • Adhere to safety and compliance requirements, risk management, and special requirements.
  • Create a detailed estimate with appropriate material, labor, and sub-breakdowns.
  • Manage quote process from initial documentation through job set up.
  • Professionally represent Hunton Services in all internal customer meetings.
  • Effectively communicate with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Identify customer needs and collaborate with the Area Service Managers to develop effective solutions.
  • Identify project and schedule issues as they arise.
  • Coordinate and respond to change order requests.
  • Prepare proposal letters, cost breakdowns, etc.
  • Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing technical publications.
