About The Position

HVAC Apprentice will assist Service Technicians and provide maintenance and minor repair on residential HVAC systems, and provide customers with the highest quality service available. Requirements

  • Proficient Verbal and Written English language skills.
  • Ability to follow and carry out both written and verbal instructions in a timely manner.
  • Ability to arrive on time daily.
  • Ability to safely use ladders in performance of job duties including climbing and descending from a ladder.
  • Ability to work at heights above ground floor level.
  • Ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
  • Ability to use a tape measure, cut & drill holes.
  • Demonstration of proper and safe use of tools, related equipment, and personal protection equipment.
  • Adaptability: Manage competing demands and frequent changes in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively individually and in a team environment.
  • Ability to work independently in residential and commercial settings.
  • Maintain professional well groomed, workman like appearance with no visible tattoos or piercings.
  • Maintain professional attitude at all times.
  • Willingness to pursue a position as Installation of Service professional.
  • Basic hand tools
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License and insurability by Company insurance carrier
  • Completion of HVAC trade school
  • 0 - 5 months or more of HVAC field experience
  • EPA certification or ability to obtain upon employment
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. - E-Verify System is used to verify employment eligibility
  • Will be subject to Pre-Employment drug and alcohol tests, background investigation and/or credit check

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate willingness to invest time in training offered on and off site
  • Must be able to work from 28’ extension ladder
  • Demonstrate willingness to invest in tools required to perform required task
  • Assist Technician/Installer in performance of his/her duties.
  • Assist in the repair of both residential and commercial HVAC systems and duct work.
  • Assist in planning and coordinating tasks and material amounts required for completion of work.
  • Assist in planning and preparing equipment and tools necessary for performance of work.
  • Demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot basic cooling system malfunctions
  • Demonstrate the ability to use company computers, forms and other technology
  • Clean equipment and work area upon completion of work.
  • Complete paperwork as required on a timely basis.
  • Pursue training to improve knowledge and skills with goal to become a Service or Installation professional.
  • May be asked to work in other departments as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
