The position involves conducting preventive maintenance, repair, installation, commissioning, and general servicing of systems, with a focus on customer satisfaction through direct, on-site interaction. The role requires a high level of technical competence and includes mentoring control technicians and service technicians. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing complex control systems, consulting with customers, managing work efficiently, and adhering to safety standards.

  • Conduct preventive maintenance, repair, installation, and commissioning of systems.
  • Diagnose and repair complex control systems malfunctions.
  • Consult with customers and provide field proposals for retrofits and upgrades.
  • Manage assigned work to ensure professional execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide sketches of field changes for engineering corrections.
  • Install and modify software and graphics.
  • Communicate with customers regarding service provided and outstanding issues.
  • Train customers in control systems operations.
  • Mentor and coach technicians on building automation systems.
  • Compile job documentation and complete project close-out documentation.
  • Assist in the design and configuration of building control systems.
  • Select, order, and track delivery of materials for assigned projects.
  • Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facility efficiency.
  • Minimum of six (6) years of commercial controls troubleshooting experience in the HVAC industry.
  • Vocational School program graduate or associate's degree in a technical field, or two years of experience in servicing electronic and/or mechanical systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to install and/or service electronic control systems and HVAC equipment.
  • Effective communication skills to represent Johnson Controls on customer sites.
  • Ability to explain technical information to both technical and non-technical people.
  • Demonstrate effective writing skills and understanding of software applications.
  • Knowledge of control theory, automatic temperature controls, and building automation systems.
