About The Position

The HVAC Truck Based Senior Controls Technician will perform HVAC Control systems programming, troubleshooting, installation, commissioning, and preventative maintenance related to mechanical, electrical, and low voltage controls components. The technician will respond to service and warranty calls using Johnson Controls configuration and commissioning tools, as well as a variety of hand tools including electrical testing meters and other electronic testing equipment. This role involves providing front line technical and repair support through effective communications with Johnson Controls customers, making system repair and update recommendations, and assisting in proposing these recommendations to customers. The technician will be part of an expanding team of the best technicians in the industry while building a career with a first-class global organization.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, sequence, and applications.
  • Demonstrated technical aptitude in mechanical and electro-mechanical fields.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools and electrical testing equipment such as a multi meter.
  • Solid knowledge base in the use of personal computers.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Good communication and listening skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform HVAC Control systems programming, troubleshooting, installation, commissioning, and preventative maintenance.
  • Respond to service and warranty calls using Johnson Controls tools and hand tools.
  • Provide front line technical and repair support to customers.
  • Make system repair and update recommendations.
  • Load Johnson Controls field and network level controller software.
  • Perform commissioning and system diagnostics for all levels of system controllers and end devices.
  • Complete all required commissioning documentation.
  • Keep management and customers informed of job progress and issues.
  • Calibrate systems using basic electronic test equipment.
  • Complete administrative tasks including time sheets and expense reports.
  • Document changes and provide information for as-built documentation.
  • Engage with customers to understand their systems and needs.
  • Communicate with customers upon arrival and before leaving the work site.
  • Follow all safety standards and attend required safety training.
