About The Position

The Contractor HVAC position is responsible for maintaining all HVAC and refrigeration equipment within the school district to ensure full educational use at all times. This role involves participating in HVAC work, establishing a preventive maintenance program, procuring supplies, and advising on contractor qualifications for major repairs. The contractor will also train HVAC helpers, review HVAC plans for new projects, and be on call for emergencies related to heating and air conditioning equipment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Oklahoma Contractor HVAC License.
  • Bondable and furnish Bond upon employment and keep in force during employment.
  • Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in all HVAC work performed by district personnel.
  • Establish and carry out a preventive maintenance program for district heating and air conditioning equipment.
  • Recommend and procure supplies and equipment for purchase, and maintain the inventory of district-owned tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Establish priority of tasks with the Maintenance Supervisor or designee.
  • Conduct Inservice for district maintenance and building supervisors on preventive maintenance techniques.
  • Advise on qualification for hiring contractors for major repairs.
  • Estimate cost of HVAC renovation or replacement in terms of labor, material, and overhead.
  • Train assigned HVAC servicemen helpers as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor or designee.
  • Review HVAC plans for new construction and renovation projects and make recommendations.
  • Keep immediate supervisor advised of activities and progress.
  • Be on 24-hour call for emergencies due to breakdowns of heating and/or air conditioning equipment.
  • Comply with all relevant local, state, and national building and safety codes.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Benefits

  • 245 days per year contract.
  • 8 hours per day work schedule.
  • Salary range of $23.64 - $26.04 per hour.
