What this job involves: Join JLL as an HVAC/Refrigeration Technician and take ownership of critical building systems that keep our facilities running smoothly. This hands-on role involves maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing HVAC-R equipment, utilities, and various mechanical systems including water and steam systems. You'll be a key player in ensuring optimal facility operations while working across multiple trades including plumbing and electrical work. This position offers excellent opportunities to apply your technical expertise in a dynamic environment where your skills directly impact building performance and client satisfaction. What your day-to-day will look like:

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience with commercial building systems, specifically refrigeration components
  • Experience operating electric hand tools, ladders, man lifts, scissor lifts, and forklifts
  • Universal EPA 608 certification (Refrigeration)
  • Ability to perform job functions with minimal supervision and strong problem-solving skills
  • Physical capability to lift 50lbs, work at heights, in confined spaces, and various weather conditions
  • Ability to work in tight spaces (closets, crawl spaces, attics, vaults) and perform overhead work

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Johnson Controls BAS systems and building automation
  • Trade license, apprenticeship, or equivalent vocational certification in HVAC/mechanical systems
  • Proven customer service skills in client-facing environments
  • Strong interpersonal skills and team collaboration abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and computer systems
  • Experience with SAP system (preferred but not required)

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain air handling equipment, including air filters, DP monitoring, and air balancing
  • Operate and maintain various refrigeration equipment such as coolers and freezers (reach-in and walk-in)
  • Monitor, adjust, and maintain HVAC systems, cooling towers, VAV systems, heat exchangers, and emergency backup systems
  • Respond to system alarms and implement corrective actions through analysis and troubleshooting
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on ventilation systems, pumps, valves, piping, and electrical components
  • Install plumbing, piping, tubing, and troubleshoot VFDs on HVAC units and pumps
  • Complete work permits, Job Hazard Analysis documentation, and maintain compliance with regulations
