About The Position
The HVAC Refrigeration Mechanic is a journeyman-level position responsible for the repair, installation, and maintenance of refrigeration, air conditioning, and heating units within the University of Georgia's residence halls. This role supports approximately 8,000 residents across 9 residential communities, ensuring that all HVAC systems operate efficiently and effectively. The position requires technical expertise in HVAC systems, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
