About The Position

Summary: The HVAC/R Technician is responsible for general preventative maintenance, repairs, service work, and troubleshooting malfunctions of HVAC and refrigeration equipment daily in a designated territory. Supervisory Responsibilities: None Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Responds to service calls dispatched in assigned territory. Uses tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical testing devices. Maintains and repairs beverage equipment such as Fountain units, FBD/FCB units, Coffee/Custom Café units, Cappuccino units. Install HVAC/Refrigeration equipment at all stores. Install or repair electrical connections to HVAC components. Maintain and service refrigeration equipment such as walk in coolers and ice machines. Performs light electrical construction. Changes gas hoses and nozzles as needed. Records and manages maintenance and repair work performed and work orders on service software. Tracks inventory and parts used at each site. Maintains the designated company vehicle to ensure it is clean, organized, and stocked. Manages non-billable time such as meetings, truck maintenance and callbacks. Attends and participates in professional group meetings; maintain awareness of developments in the field of facility maintenance. Assists all members of maintenance when needed. Assists with store openings and closings. Maintains the construction of new buildings and installs new equipment in stores. Supports and facilitates organizational changes, continuous improvement and communication.   • Possess a valid state-issued Driver’s License with a clean driving record
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must have HVAC Contractor License
  • Experience in HVAC repairs and preventative maintenance
  • Experience in refrigeration repairs and preventative maintenance
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, talk/hear, push/pull, climb, bend/stoop, crouch/kneel/crawl, taste/smell, balance, twist/reach, carry, grasp with hands, squat, and drive.
  • Lifting Requirements: Lift up to 50lbs daily and 50-100lbs on occasion.
  • Hearing Requirements: Ability to hear alarms, communication equipment, verbal instructions, and machinery.
  • Cognitive Requirements: Basic reading, writing and math skills. Basic or Complex speech skills; must be able to speak, read, write & understand the English language, clerical tasks, memorization, analytical skills, function under stress & make independent decisions.
  • Vision Requirements: General vision requirements in addition to close vision (<20 inches), Distance Vision (>20 feet), color vision and peripheral vision.
  • Noise Levels: Normal (<85dB) noise levels
  • Repetitive Motion(s): Regularly & repetitively use left/right/both feet and left/right/both hands.
  • Environmental Factors: General working conditions include wet/humid/steam conditions not created by weather, slippery floors, hot grease, working with mechanical parts and machinery including machinery that contains moving parts, asbestos exposure, outdoor weather conditions, extreme heat/cold, confined areas, pressurized equipment, Oxygen/Acetylene, Cylinders, CO2 Cylinders, electrical equipment, vibration, possible flying debris, flashing/strobing lighting and work around vehicles in motion.
