About The Position

MSS is looking to hire a Commercial HVAC technician to troubleshoot, maintain and repair HVAC systems in the New Orleans area! the ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of Commercial HVAC Technician Service experience as well as an EPA Universal certification. What You'll Do: Perform routine repairs to pump seals, bearing, etc. Inspect and test systems to verify system compliance with plans and specifications or to detect and locate malfunctions. Determine customer concerns with HVAC and boiler systems. Follow standards, policies, and procedures, including safety procedures and the maintenance of a clean work area. Record and report faults, deficiencies, and other unusual occurrences, as well as the time and materials expended on work orders. Adjust system controls to setting recommended by manufacturer to balance system. Recommend, develop, or perform maintenance procedures such as cleaning, power-washing, or vacuuming equipment, lubricate parts, or changing filters. Install auxiliary components to heating-cooling equipment, such as expansion and discharge valves, air ducts, pipes, blowers, dampers, flues, and stokers, following blueprints Study blueprints, design specifications, and manufacturers' recommendations to ascertain the configuration of heating or cooling equipment components and to ensure the proper installation of components Fabricate, assemble, or install duct work or chassis parts, using portable metal-working tools or welding equipment Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 5+ years of commercial HVAC maintenance experience
  • Universally EPA Certified
  • Ability to troubleshoot HVAC components with built up systems and package units, which may include chiller air handler pump towers, cooling towers, control systems, boilers and air handling systems
  • Ability to learn commercial expertise in boilers, chillers, pneumatic controls, digital controls and packaged HVAC equipment
  • Ability to read electronic schematics
  • High School diploma/GED required + equivalent work experience
