About The Position

Refrigeration Unlimited, Inc. (RUI) is seeking certified HVAC / Refrigeration Technicians for commercial service work in and around the Tacoma, WA area. This is a union position that offers extremely competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package. Current Union membership is not required and will be facilitated by the employer for the right candidate.

Requirements

• 2+ years prior HVAC/R experience
• Be available for ON CALL work as needed
• Ability to pass a physical/drug screen/background investigation/driving abstract as needed.

Nice To Haves

• EPA license highly desired
• At least 2-3 years of grocery refrigeration/HVAC experience highly desired
• Related education/certification in HVAC and refrigeration industry highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, diagnose, and repair multiple types of refrigeration systems, including mechanical and electrical components related to the equipment.
• Perform minor plumbing repairs on refrigeration equipment, including walk-in drain lines, case drain lines, cooling towers, and water-cooled condensers.
• Inspect plumbing, electrical, and refrigeration systems and identify specifications that are required.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs for HVAC and Refrigeration.
• Collaborate directly with grocery store managers and store directors.
• Quote equipment repairs and recommend replacement when necessary.
• Maintain proper van stock, tools, and safety equipment on work van.
