Fortis College in Indy is seeking an experienced, highly motivated Program Director for the HVAC/R program. We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic leader to manage the HVAC/R program. This is a full time, professional position reporting directly to the Dean/Director of Education. As the leader of the program, the Program Director is responsible for managing the department using sound business principles and ensuring compliance with all regulatory, accreditation and company policies and procedures. This position requires some evening and Saturday hours.

  • Manage the HVAC/R program department using sound business principles.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, accreditation and company policies and procedures.
  • Teach in the assigned discipline.
  • Work with faculty to promote continuous improvement of the quality of instruction within the assigned program(s).
  • Serve as the lead administrator for the department.
  • Be responsible for faculty training and development.
  • Coordinate and administer the academic program(s) and student outcomes and activities within the department.
  • Completion of an HVAC/R program resulting in a Certificate of Completion or Diploma; associate degree preferred.
  • HVAC certification - Required.
  • EPA Universal certification - Required.
  • HVAC Journeyman certification - not required but highly desired.
  • Expertise in interpersonal and verbal presentation/written communication skills.
  • Ability to provide effective direction and leadership and work effectively and collaboratively with others.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an HVAC Technician or similar position.
  • Prior higher education/postsecondary related teaching experience of at least 2 years.
  • Associate degree required.
