We boldly go. Trane Technologies is currently seeking a HVAC Product Repair Tech. The technician troubleshoots electrical, mechanical and refrigeration products that fail to satisfactorily complete run-test. After identifying the equipment's cause of failure, the technician will effect repairs, document root cause of the failure, and communicate the root cause to the Group Leader and/or Department Leader in an effort to eliminate additional failures. This role has been designated by the company as Safety Sensitive.

Requirements

  • 5 years HVAC troubleshooting experience or HVAC certification and one year of experience.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must be able to communicate, read and understand work instructions in English.
  • HVAC training and Refrigerant recovery certification preferred.
  • Must obtain a refrigerant recovery certification after hire.
  • EPA Certification.

Nice To Haves

  • IE precision electrical soldering, brazing or wiring may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes values as demonstrated in personal productivity and quality of work, management of internal/external relationships.
  • Actively seeks out and participates in Continuous Improvement practices.
  • Comply with safety procedures.
  • Performs troubleshooting techniques to diagnose failures of products that fail in the run-test.
  • Make repairs to the products once the cause of failure and corrective action(s) have been identified.
  • Communicate the root cause to the Leader.
  • May be required to record measurements and document conditions.
  • Ensure that product repairs & documentation are completed according to FDA GMP requirements.
  • Complete nonconformance records according to established procedures and GMP requirements.
  • Performs quality inspections, as required by each process.
  • Train new employees by demonstrating work.
  • May be responsible for directing the work of others or may be responsible for re-training others when a product failure is found.
