About The Position

This position serves as a member of our HVAC team in our Building and Grounds division. This position will provide preventive maintenance and inspections of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment. Inspects wiring, controls, and calibrations; cleans coils and blowers; checks motors and belt tension; changes filters; lubricates mechanical connections. Performs housekeeping duties on all HVAC systems and in all mechanical rooms; assists in maintaining inventory and records of parts and equipment used; recognizes and reports deterioration, repair needs, and/or maintenance needs to supervisor. Performs other work as required. Uniforms are provided. This position is a part of an approved Career Development Plan (CDP) and offers career progression opportunities and salary incentives, as funding permits, based on performance, qualifications, and experience.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Completion of an HVAC vocational/technical training program.
  • One year of experience in the maintenance and repair of HVAC systems or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Working knowledge of the principles and practices of HVAC maintenance and repair.
  • Ability to operate and maintain specialized tools used in HVAC and related building trades.
  • Ability to read and interpret manuals, specifications, drawings, plans, and blueprints.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work.
