About The Position

Johnson Controls, a leading provider of HVAC and building automation solutions, is seeking a skilled and experienced Operations and Maintenance Specialist to join their team. The company is dedicated to creating purposeful solutions and fostering a diverse team. This opportunity is at a newly constructed electric vehicle battery manufacturing plant, involving a 12-year O&M contract for providing hard services of MEP equipment, excluding manufacturing and production equipment. The objective is to maintain a seamless environment by ensuring equipment performs to specifications for uninterrupted manufacturing and administrative functions. The role is for a skilled specialist with commercial, industrial, and/or institutional market experience, preferably with a minimum of five years of practical working experience in the HVAC plumbing, pipefitting, and/or mechanical equipment service industry. Requirements

  • Skilled craftsman in their trade
  • Minimum of five (5) years actual, practical working experience in the HVAC plumbing, pipefitting and/or mechanical equipment service industry
  • May be required to pass a satisfactory examination as to your special skill
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid HVAC Mechanical Journeymen license
  • Proven experience as an HVAC Mechanical Journeymen or in a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Flexibility to work on-call or during emergencies, as required

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems in accordance with building codes and manufacturer specifications.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC system malfunctions, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
  • Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems using hand and power tools.
  • Conduct performance tests and adjustments on HVAC systems to meet specified requirements.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including parts used, labor hours, and work performed.
  • Collaborate with other team members and contractors to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Stay updated on industry advancements, regulations, and best practices through ongoing training and professional development.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and company policies and procedures at all times.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, addressing client concerns and resolving issues professionally.
