About The Position

The HVAC Mechanic performs diagnostic tests, maintenance and repairs, replacements and installations of air conditioners, refrigeration equipment, heating, pneumatic, hydraulic equipment. Maintains the building automation system by continual updates on the database. Maintains major life safety equipment, including medical air compressors, purification equipment, medical vacuum pumps of various design, and medical gas transmission piping.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Verifiable vocational training of 2 to 3 years in a HVAC service position, or completion of an apprenticeship program.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
• Knowledge of refrigeration principles, hydraulic, electrical, electronic, pneumatic systems.
• Understanding of installation and repair of refrigeration equipment and pneumatic controlled compressors.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• ARI EPA-approved universal type refrigeration license.
• Analytical ability to determine causes of malfunctions in HVAC systems.
• Ability to understand and communicate verbal and written instructions.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic tests on HVAC systems.
• Conduct maintenance and repairs on air conditioners and refrigeration equipment.
• Install and replace heating, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.
• Maintain the building automation system with continual updates.
• Ensure the functionality of major life safety equipment including medical air compressors and medical vacuum pumps.
