About The Position

Reporting to HVAC Supervisor at a medium custody male correctional facility, this position is primarily responsible for providing journey level work in the areas of Heating/Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, Hot Water Supply & also Plumbing and Food Service Equipment. Other responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following: 1. Performing special repairs and assignments that are received by work orders from authorized personnel. 2. Identifying the cause of a problem & determining materials, tools and method of repair. 3. Carrying out repair procedures independently on most jobs. 4. Performing preventative maintenance functions as required and outlined in the preventative maintenance plans. 5. Training and/or supervising the work of offender helpers as needed. (Salary Range: $39,244 - $68,679) This posting will close at 11:59 pm, the night before the end date listed above.

Requirements

  • High School or General Educational Development (GED) diploma AND three years of progressive experience in the installation, maintenance or repair of air conditioning chillers, air handling, chilled water distribution and control systems; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Requires current certification by the Environmental Protection Agency as a Type I, II, III or Universal technician as required by Title 40, Code of Federal Regulations part 82, subpart F.

  • Documented experience in HVAC (Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning) Systems.
