About The Position

Tyrrell Prison Work Farm Salary Range 37,782.00 - 66120.00 This position will perform the full range of journey work duties associated with the preventive and routine maintenance on HVAC and refrigeration systems. May be required to assist in other maintenance areas as needed.

Requirements

High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and three years of progressive experience in the installation, maintenance or repair of air conditioning chillers, air handling, chilled water distribution and control systems; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Requires current certification by the Environmental Protection Agency as a Type I, II, III or Universal technician as required by Title 40, Code of Federal Regulations part 82, subpart F.

Responsibilities

maintains the heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning equipment
installs new equipment
charge system refrigerants
replaces bearings, seals, and filters
lubricates as necessary and adjusts and balances the distribution system
maintains electronic/pneumatic equipment
performs all necessary testing, trouble shooting, and alignment repair of electrical/pneumatic system
identify the cause of the problem, determine materials and tools needed and method of repair, and carry out repair procedures independently on most jobs
performs preventive maintenance functions as required and outlined in the preventative maintenance plans
train and/or supervise the work of offender helpers.
