Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Trade school graduate preferred.
  • Massachusetts Refrigeration Technician License required.
  • EPA Refrigeration Reclamation Type I and II Licenses required.
  • Mechanical knowledge of occupational machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, and strategies to promote safety on the job.
  • Ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule, procedure, or guideline.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity to utilize tools of the trade.
  • Ability to communicate, listen, and comprehend information and ideas and work collaboratively with others.
  • Must be a self-starter with a high degree of initiative.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for preventative maintenance, plant operations, repairs and minor modifications to air handling units and fixed fans.
  • Maintain ductwork, reheat coils and boxes, AC compressor chiller systems, water coolers, and associated controls.
  • Manage steam systems and coordinate with trades such as electrical and plumbing to keep all systems operating at highest reliability.
  • Implement energy conservation techniques on HVAC systems.
  • Make periodic rounds to all building support equipment and maintain operating log of conditions observed.
  • Maintain records of work done, time records and P/M records through the CMMS system.
  • Be on call as required.
  • Provide the highest level of personal protection at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
