Duties And Responsibilities Perform maintenance and troubleshoot all types of HVAC systems and commercial and residential equipment, including some limited specialty food service and laboratory equipment. Perform repairs and oversee repairs by outside contractors for specialized HVAC systems and equipment on an “as needed basis.” Work individually or as a team member as job conditions demand. Physical Demands Performing physical tasks associated with the operation of HVAC equipment, including valve operations, moving materials (package weights to 50 pounds is common), and maintenance/repair work. Working under temperature extremes. Ability to transverse elevated catwalks, stairs, ladders, ascending/descending manholes and crawlspaces. Working with and around moving equipment such as motors, pumps and fans. Troubleshooting energized equipment in a safe and qualified manner. Handling and feeding water treatment chemicals and reagents.
