The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing maintenance safety tune-up inspections on HVAC systems (furnaces, air conditioning systems, heat pump systems, package units, and mini-split systems), both as prepaid plans as well as new customers. During these inspections, they will be responsible for maintaining the performance of the systems, identifying any potential issues, offering upgrades to systems (IE… IAQ upgrades), troubleshooting minor issues, and making repairs that are within their skill level.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED
  • 1-2 years experience in the HVAC field or Trade school is preferred.
  • EPA certification is strongly recommended.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Must be highly motivated and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Performing maintenance safety tune-up inspections on HVAC systems (furnaces, air conditioning systems, heat pump systems, package units, and mini-split systems). These are in homes and light commercial locations in Sonoma & Marin Counties.
  • Providing excellent customer services to introduce or continue the customers experience with dealing with our company and our core values.
  • Presenting and closing opportunities for the customer to sign-up or renew prepaid maintenance programs.
  • Strong understanding of how a HVAC system should optimally work.
  • Reading and interpreting equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Diagnosing problems, replacing or repairing parts (recognize when a more experienced technician needs to be sent out to evaluate the job), testing and making adjustments to HVAC systems.
  • Identify plumbing issues and call in to the office to get one of our plumbers scheduled out to evaluate.
  • Identify electrical issues and call in to the office to get one of our plumbers scheduled out to evaluate.
  • Educate and offer customer preventive repairs (IE... replace run capacitor with low reading before it fails) and upgrades (IE… IAQ upgrades).
  • Complying with safety regulations and maintaining clean and orderly work areas.
  • Performing other work-related duties as assigned.
