About The Position

The position involves providing maintenance on residential heating and air conditioning systems according to company standards, ensuring a high-quality experience for customers. The role requires a commitment to developing customer service skills and performing routine maintenance of HVAC equipment. The technician will identify potential problems affecting current or future performance and effectively communicate findings with customers. Additionally, maintaining the company vehicle, reporting mechanical issues, and ensuring proper stock of parts and safety equipment are essential responsibilities. The technician will also perform duct cleanings at residential locations, travel to job sites within the service area, and participate in company-provided training opportunities on the latest industry technologies. Identifying and reporting potential opportunities for additional business is also part of the job.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license and clean driving record, insurable by company insurance
• Ability to work nights or weekends, on a rotating basis, to service emergency needs of customers
• Possess excellent time-management and communication skills
• Ability to lift, push or pull up to 100 lbs.
• Ability to work outside in a wide range of temperatures
• Willingness to further develop skills through training seminars and classes
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen
• Minimum High School diploma, GED or equivalent preferred
• Previous HVAC experience preferred
• Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and blueprints is preferred
• Must possess or be able to acquire EPA certification within 3 months of entering the position
• Knowledge of duct cleaning practices preferred
• Basic written and verbal English language communication skills

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate commitment to developing customer service skills
• Perform routine maintenance of HVAC equipment

• Effectively communicate findings with customers
• Maintain good working order of company vehicle, report any mechanical issues
• Maintain proper stock, parts, tools and safety equipment in company vehicle
• Perform duct cleanings at residential locations
• Travel to job sites within service area; work with dispatch to ensure schedule is maintained and delays are properly communicated
• Participate in company provided training opportunities on latest industry technologies
• Identify and report potential opportunities for additional business (newer system, service contracts and additional services)
• Other duties as assigned.
