About The Position

Encon is seeking a motivated Apprentice HVAC Maintenance Technician to join our HVAC team. This role is designed for individuals pursuing a professional trades license in the HVAC industry. Apprentices will work directly alongside experienced technicians, gaining hands-on field training and professional development while supporting a wide range of mechanical systems. Requirements Job Responsibilities · Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC equipment, including filter changes, belt replacements, lubrication, coil cleaning, and general equipment inspection. · Assist in diagnosing and repairing malfunctions in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. · Receive, complete, and document work orders in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner. · Inspect jobs upon completion to ensure work areas are clean, safe, and professional. · Maintain vehicles, tools, and equipment in clean, safe, and operable condition. · Follow all Encon Service Standards related to Safety, Responsiveness, Accuracy, Professionalism, Productivity, and Teamwork. Required Skills & Experience · High school diploma required. · Ability to operate a computer and software applications, including email and work-order management platforms. · Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. · Ability to safely use hand and power tools common to the HVAC industry. · Strong communication skills—both written and verbal. · Professional demeanor and commitment to delivering excellent customer service. · High moral standards, reliability, and a strong work ethic. · Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Desired Skills & Experience · Prior experience with mechanical systems or building trades (automotive, carpentry, facilities, fabrication, etc.) is a plus. Eligibility Requirements · Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. · Employment and education history will be verified. · Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. · Encon is a drug-free workplace and requires post-offer, pre-employment drug testing. Physical Requirements · Ability to work in a variety of indoor and outdoor conditions, including extreme heat or cold. · Ability to work in confined spaces, such as mechanical rooms, attics, crawl spaces, and basements. · Ability to safely work at elevated heights, including rooftops, ladders, and platforms. · Ability to bend, crawl, stoop, stretch, and reach for extended periods. · Ability to walk on uneven surfaces and navigate active job sites. · Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
