About The Position

The HVAC Lead position at Boise State University involves leading and supervising HVAC Technicians in the installation and maintenance of HVAC systems. Requirements

  • Current HVAC journeyman license.
  • Universal EPA-CFC license.
  • Driver's License.

  • 10 or more years of related work experience.
  • High Tonnage Experience: Commercial and industrial applications for HVAC/R.

Responsibilities

  • Lead assigned personnel in the performance of work.
  • Assure adherence to safety rules and precautions by assigned personnel.
  • Develop preliminary cost estimates for installation and repair.
  • Develop methods and procedures to be followed by assigned personnel.
  • Assist with hiring and training staff.
  • Schedule and adjust workload and evaluate performance.
  • Monitor HVAC systems and operations, ensuring routine preventive maintenance is performed according to established schedules and standards.
  • Respond to hot and cold calls, troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Check, repair, and/or replace valves, motors, controls, switches, gauges, wiring, fans, pumps, compressors, condensers, cores, pipes, and other functional components of the system.
  • Service Roof Top Package, Split Systems, Heat Pumps, Air/Water Cooled Chillers, cooling towers, refrigeration, and water and air distribution systems.
  • Operate and repair HVAC control systems including Siemens, JCI, Automated Logic, Watt Master, Phoenix Valves, Laboratory Support Systems, Fume Hoods, Exhaust Systems, Compressed Air Systems, and Vacuum Systems.
  • Inspect completed work for conformance with local building and safety code requirements.
  • Requisition HVAC supplies and equipment.
  • Verify and implement preventive maintenance standards on all HVAC distribution equipment.
  • Document all work in the CMS system (Computerized Maintenance System).
  • Enforce all Boise State University safety and risk management policies and procedures; report all accidents and injuries in a timely manner and identify and correct unsafe work conditions with management oversight.
  • Attend training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated.
  • Participate in the 'On-Call' rotation.
