About The Position

The HVAC Lead Installer is responsible for overseeing and completing the installation of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in residential, commercial, or industrial settings. This role leads installation crews, ensures high-quality workmanship, provides technical expertise, and maintains customer satisfaction. The HVAC Lead Installer also ensures that installations comply with manufacturer specifications, local codes, and company standards.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of HVAC installation experience.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC equipment, ductwork systems, and installation best practices.
  • EPA Section 608 Certification (Type II or Universal).
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in confined spaces, attics, rooftops, or crawlspaces.
  • Leadership and team coordination

  • Blueprint reading and mechanical aptitude
  • Time management and jobsite organization
  • Knowledge of building and mechanical codes

Nice To Haves

  • HVAC trade school certification or associate degree.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the installation of HVAC systems including furnaces, condensers, heat pumps, ductwork, ventilation systems, and related accessories.
  • Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications.
  • Conduct system start-ups, testing, and commissioning to ensure functionality and compliance.
  • Troubleshoot installation issues and make necessary adjustments or repairs.
  • Ensure proper charging, evacuation, brazing, and installation of refrigeration piping.
  • Supervise installation crews and assign daily tasks.
  • Train and mentor junior installers and apprentices.
  • Monitor project progress, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality expectations.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, builders, and customers.
  • Explain installation processes and system operation to customers.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor on job sites.
  • Address customer questions and concerns promptly.
  • Follow all OSHA, EPA, and company safety procedures.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized job sites.
  • Ensure all installations comply with local, state, and national codes.
  • Complete required documentation, paperwork, and system records.
