About The Position

This HVAC Lab Technician III plays a pivotal role in validating new products including lab facility management and repair, test setups, performance testing, and continuous improvement. By leveraging their expertise in troubleshooting commercial HVAC equipment and by collaborating across the engineering department, they help bring our new products to market.

Requirements

  • Candidates without a degree are encouraged to apply; we prioritize practical experience, relevant skills, and alignment with our leadership principles.
  • Associate’s Degree in HVAC (or related technical field) and at least 6-years of relevant HVAC work experience is required; OR at least 9-years of relevant HVAC or compressor experience is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook) required.
  • EPA Type Universal Certification or willingness to become certified

Responsibilities

  • Lead by example in workplace safety, in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and repair commercial HVAC systems and equipment including the lab facilities and products under test.
  • Lead or support the installation, modification, troubleshooting and repair of developmental commercial HVAC equipment and components, following engineering, agency, and test requirements.
  • Support product development activities by operating commercial HVAC equipment, controlling test facilities, and collecting and reviewing experimental test data.
  • Work with engineers and other technicians to install and utilize laboratory test equipment including data acquisition systems, power analyzers, flow equipment, pressure, and temperature measurement devices.
  • Develop subject matter expertise in test standards and support the creation and improvement of test procedures.
  • Assist in the design or modification of test facilities to expand the test capabilities of Trane Technologies.
