About The Position

We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Instructor to teach a three-month course focused on a foundational understanding of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems. This class prepares students for further study and hands-on experience in the HVAC field.

Requirements

• 5 years proven experience working in HVAC field
• Strong working knowledge of HVAC systems, refrigeration cycles, and safety standards
• Ability to communicate clearly with both novice and experienced learners
• Must be fingerprinted & take the adult education teaching exam for NYS.

Nice To Haves

• Prior teaching or public speaking experience preferred
• EPA 608 certification a plus but not required

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging, hands-on lessons
• Instruct students in the basic principles of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and refrigeration cycles.
• Teach operation and function of common HVAC components (compressors, condensers, evaporators, air handling units)
• Demonstrate safety procedures, proper tool usage, and trade math concepts
• Provide an overview of system installation and maintenance practices
• Prepare students for the EPA 608 Certification opportunity
• Answer questions and support diverse learning styles
• Maintain a positive, inclusive, and professional classroom environment
