About The Position

Seeking experienced HVAC installer with a broad-based knowledge of the installation process for HVAC systems, including furnaces, boilers, condensing units, evaporator and fan coils, heat pumps and mini-split systems.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years’ experience installing HVAC systems
EPA Certification
Understand Mechanical/Plumbing/Electrical/Fire codes for installation of HVAC equipment
Ability to read manufacturer installation instructions/specifications- following without deviation
Ability to receive and delegate tasks at the job site and to efficiently complete the job.
Proper EPA procedures for removal of existing HVAC equipment and measuring for proper positioning of new equipment
Commissioning of new equipment, checking airflow setting, refrigerant charge, proper setting of controls/setup. Updating software & setting proper settings
Properly vent furnaces that are 80% or 90% efficiency
Proper installation of condensing units; high and low voltage connections, proper position of service disconnect. High voltage wire sizing and circuit breaker sizing per equipment specs
Brazing techniques, nitrogen pressure testing & evacuation/dehydration of new HVAC equipment; lines sets/filter drier installation; condensate daring lines
Charging and testing the system to be sure it is operating according to manufacturers’ specification; Superheat/Subcooling requirements
Ability to locate leaks in the refrigerant system and correct.
Setting up the thermostat for proper equipment communication and
Testing of equipment/accessories upon completion of installation
Professional and polite communication with customer, during and after the installation is complete, to ensure they are comfortable with the operation of their new system.
