HVAC Installation Technician
About The Position
We are seeking a skilled HVAC Installer to support residential and light commercial installation projects in Birmingham, Alabama. This full-time role is ideal for a hands-on professional experienced in installing heating and cooling systems while maintaining high standards for safety, efficiency, and workmanship. As part of a growing HVAC team in Birmingham, you will handle complete system installations—from equipment setup and ductwork installation to startup, testing, and performance verification. Requirements
- Minimum 2+ years of HVAC installation experience (residential or light commercial)
- Strong knowledge of HVAC equipment, airflow principles, and installation techniques
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and electrical schematics
- EPA certification required (additional certifications are a plus)
- Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in confined or elevated spaces
- Commitment to workplace safety and high-quality workmanship
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Responsibilities
- Install furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, duct systems, and related HVAC equipment
- Interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer installation specifications
- Perform system startup, testing, and commissioning procedures
- Ensure all installations meet local building codes and safety regulations
- Coordinate with supervisors and other trades to maintain efficient jobsite operations
- Maintain clean and organized work areas while protecting customer property
- Troubleshoot installation challenges and resolve issues in the field
- Educate customers on system operation, maintenance practices, and basic troubleshooting
