HVAC Installation Technician II

In this role, you will be responsible for installing and doing pre-startup tasks for commercial and industrial HVAC equipment. The responsibilities will increase based on exposure to tasks, ability to develop skill sets, and consistent and accurate completion of assignments. The HVAC equipment you will be installing includes but is not limited to large and small rooftop units, split systems, chillers, and boilers. Location: Montgomery/Auburn AL. - Onsite What you will do: Install new commercial HVAC equipment and related items such as chillers, boilers, split systems, air handlers, rooftops units and ductwork. Read blueprints and layout of mechanical rooms for new equipment installation Run piping, ductwork, wire, conduit and pour concrete Occasionally perform maintenance on commercial HVAC equipment including, cleaning coils, brushing tubes, replacing filters, replacing belts and proper lubrication Occasionally repair and replacement of defective equipment, components, or wiring related to fan coils, water source heat pumps, applied air handling units, rooftop units, cooling towers, chillers and condenser tubes Occasionally maintain and inspect equipment to identify potential problems to prevent premature and unexpected breakdowns or callbacks Direct Level I technicians through hands-on demonstrations of all necessary steps to install equipment Record and report billing, inventory, timecards, technician tip reports, and other articles as required and in a timely manner Interact with customers by offering status reports of the equipment installation, during, and after each job Participate in available training through regional technician trainers, off-site learning modules, and Daikin Learning. Requirements
- 3+ years related experience with increasing responsibility or equivalent combination of education and experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Technical school with HVAC certificate or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
- Rotational Emergency Call Support as required
- Required license(s) and/or training card as required by local law district
- Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position
Nice To Haves
- Commercial HVAC Industry Experience
- EPA approved Universal Technician Certification
- OSHA 10 within 90 days of hire (Daikin provides this training during onboarding process)
- Current first aid / CPR card
Responsibilities
