Requirements

  • 6-8 years of experience in HVAC installation.
  • Advanced training or related experience may be substituted.
  • Working knowledge of basic carpentry, gas piping, electricity, and airflow.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Knowledge of local codes and industry standards.
  • Strong supervisory, communication, computer, and mathematical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop the HVAC installation staff, including hiring, terminating, disciplining employees, and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Schedule and prioritize installation work to maximize manpower and installation output.
  • Communicate with homeowners, building inspectors, and project managers to identify installation needs and foster strong customer relationships.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor production, efficiency, and quality control on job sites.
  • Generate and review reports on departmental operations, inventory, tools, and vehicles with management.
  • Prepare reports on production, materials, vehicle usage, and other key metrics.
  • Evaluate staff training needs and provide on-the-job training to ensure proper use of materials and quality workmanship.
  • Stay in close contact with installation crews to assist with unexpected needs or challenges.
  • Review payroll records to ensure accurate technician compensation.
  • Ensure job completion and may conduct job site surveys for quality assurance.
  • Resolve customer complaints or issues, ensuring high satisfaction.
  • Monitor preventive maintenance of vehicles and equipment to ensure proper operation.
  • May manage sales staff and approve pricing for sales.
  • Oversee facility and equipment maintenance, ensuring assets are properly protected and controlled.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors as needed.
