About The Position

The HVAC Installation Apprentice is responsible for assisting the Lead Installer in the production and quality levels by installing HVAC equipment for residential and light commercial customers.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 0-2 years’ experience in the HVAC industry as an installation apprentice.
  • Must possess team spirit, and be able to work closely with maintenance, production, and engineering, and out of doors services.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade.
  • Technical and mechanical competence
  • Must pass MVR screening with the ability to maintain a good driving record and have reached the age of 22 prior to promotion to Lead Installer in addition to meeting required qualifications for that role.
  • Must be able to follow directions and work independently.
  • Ability to read, write and speak in English.
  • Must be proficient in the use of smart phones, tablets and other mobile devices

Nice To Haves

  • Preference will be given to those who have completed an accredited HVAC training program.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for assisting lead installer in preparing for the day by loading all the equipment for scheduled jobs.
  • Maintain company vehicle, ensuring cleanliness and organization, both inside and out.
  • Willingness to learn and be teachable.
  • Actively involved in learning processes in: Commercial and residential installation of condensers, coils, furnaces, package and roof top units, mini split systems, thermostats, high efficiency air filters
  • Installation and/or design of ducts for ventilation purposes.
  • Installation and wiring of High Efficiency systems, zoning, humidifiers, Comfort Guard, and other peripherals.
  • Quality control on layout, cleanliness, sealing the system, and overall install details.
  • Completion of daily assignments/checklist in residential crawl space and attics. Complete required paperwork including daily time/payroll sheets and submit in a timely manner.
  • Available to work occasional Saturdays.
  • Proficiency with MS Office products and advanced Phone Apps
  • Participate in all company sponsored training classes.
  • Should have EPA certification within the first year of apprenticeship.
  • Work in and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
