About The Position

This position will provide repair and maintenance to the HVAC equipment and associated motors and controls. This includes fan coil units, variable air volume units, pumps, valves, actuators, specialized controls, etc. It will operate energy management systems (Tridium.) This position will assist the technicians in the diagnosis and repair of large mechanical systems (chillers, boilers, etc) This position can have multiple levels and varies depending on education and experience. All levels of experience will be considered. Please review the job description for the requirements of this position at all levels.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of methods, practices, materials and equipment used in air conditioning and refrigeration maintenance
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems to maintain HVAC systems and related equipment in operating condition
  • Demonstrated ability to make adjustments to thermostats, gauges, valves, motors and other devices to maintain equipment in proper working order and to document the equipment service records
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to be on-call on a rotational basis
  • Ability to abide by all safety policies and wear personal protective equipment as required
  • High school graduate or equivalent education/experience that equates to a high school diploma
  • Valid Driver's license
  • Experience in mechanical repair
  • Universal EPA License
  • Journeyman HVAC license or ability to acquire within 24 months of start date
  • Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Certification
  • Experience in HVAC trade at the journeyman level

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in mechanical repair service work related to HVAC Systems
  • Experience working in a college or university setting
  • Completion of Trades School or Associates degree in related field
  • Master HVAC License
  • Experience with energy management/building automation systems
