About The Position

Degree Heating & Cooling is an established company with over 30 years of experience providing top tier service and quality products in many areas around the Glastonbury, CT area. The Role: The Install Manager is the linchpin in orchestrating and optimizing HVAC installations from sale to successful completion. The Manager ensures the development and performance of the installers and is ultimately responsible for driving completed revenue for HVAC replacement projects. He works and coordinates with Outside Project Managers, Inside Sales Representatives, and the Install Coordinator to meticulously plan and execute each installation.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience Installing HVAC systems
  • 2+ years of management experience
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Strong organization and attention to detail skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Boiler knowledge preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of ServiceTitan a plus

Responsibilities

  • Plan and Execute HVAC Installations
  • Receive sales data from Project Managers and plan system design, materials, and labor for residential HVAC installations.
  • Work with the Install Coordinator to order, receive, and stage install components
  • Ensure installations are finished on schedule, within budget, and to all relevant safety, code, and quality standards
  • Communicate with clients to resolve installation issues and complaints
  • Technician Supervision & Development
  • Hold bi-weekly 1:1’s with installers to give/receive feedback and provide individualized coaching and goal-setting assistance; work to turn every Helper into a Lead
  • Conduct regular meetings in coordination with vendor trainers to continually improve technician skills and quality of installations
  • Create and enforce processes for installers to follow before, during, and after installations
  • Labor Management
  • Recruit, interview, hire, and train installers in conjunction with the General Manager to meet budget
  • Submit/review payroll for installers to accounting weekly
  • Actively manage install department labor to fall within 5-8% of department revenue
  • Manage installations to keep recall rate below 5%
  • Assign installers to jobs based on technical competence and productivity to create high-performing crews
  • Communicate capacity to the Sales Department daily in conjunction with the Install Coordinator
