About The Position

The Install Helper position at Service Experts involves assisting the Installer or Lead Installer in the installation of residential and/or light commercial HVAC equipment and accessories. The role is performed under direct supervision, ensuring that installations are completed in accordance with company requirements and manufacturer specifications. The Install Helper is responsible for delivering excellent customer service and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction while adhering to health and safety protocols.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED with additional training.
  • 0 to 2 years' experience in HVAC with technical training certification preferred.
  • Possess all valid licensing or certification as required by federal, state, provincial, or local laws.
  • EPA and safety certifications required.
  • Basic knowledge of heating, air conditioning, and ventilation equipment.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to operate necessary tools and equipment.
  • Effective communication skills for customer interaction.
  • Time-management and organizational skills.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and on-call shifts as needed.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and maneuver in attics, basements, and crawl spaces.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in HVAC installation or service.
  • Technical training certification in HVAC.
  • Familiarity with reading wiring diagrams.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Installer or Lead Installer in installing HVAC equipment and accessories in customers' homes.
  • Help with the installation of heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment, as well as accessories.
  • Assist in the installation of ducts and duct fittings.
  • Deliver and remove equipment needed to complete installation work.
  • Ensure company property, vehicles, and tools are properly used and maintained.
  • Complete all paperwork in a neat, accurate, thorough, and timely manner as needed.
  • Represent the company professionally, honestly, and ethically.
  • Keep the installation vehicle clean and neat.
  • Report any unsafe acts, conditions, and hazards to the supervisor.
  • Participate in safety initiatives and report all injuries or incidents immediately.
