About The Position

As the HVAC/ICWS Technician, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), and Industrial Control & Water Systems (ICWS) supporting mission-critical facilities at Al Udeid Air Base. This role ensures reliable environmental control and water system operations in accordance with U.S. military standards, safety regulations, and host-nation requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in maintaining and repairing commercial/industrial HVAC/R systems and Industrial Chilled Water Systems (ICWS)
  • EPA Universal Certification required
  • Working knowledge of industrial control systems and water system operations
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and control diagrams
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Must possess a valid U.S. Driver’s License
  • Possess a valid U.S. Passport (preferred)
  • Able to obtain and maintain a valid Residency Visa for Qatar
  • Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures.
  • Must be able to endure long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
  • Must have and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, inspect, maintain, and repair commercial and industrial HVAC systems, including chillers, AHUs, RTUs, split systems, and control systems
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control-related HVAC faults and perform corrective maintenance
  • Perform preventive maintenance (PM) in accordance with established schedules and technical manuals
  • Monitor system performance and recommend improvements for efficiency and reliability
  • Operate and maintain industrial control systems related to potable water, wastewater, and associated pumping and distribution systems
  • Monitor SCADA/BMS interfaces and respond to alarms or system anomalies
  • Conduct inspections, testing, and minor repairs on valves, pumps, sensors, and control components
  • Support water system sampling, flushing, and compliance activities as required
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, reports, and work orders
  • Comply with all safety, environmental, and force protection requirements
  • Coordinate with engineers, supervisors, and base personnel to support mission needs
  • Respond to emergency calls and perform after-hours or on-call support as required
  • Ensure tools, equipment, and work areas are maintained in safe working condition
